Antoine Butler · Founder & coach
Build strength that supports the life you want to live.
Personal training and small-group fitness coaching for people who want to move better, get stronger, and feel more capable in everyday life.
Build Well is a coaching practice led by Antoine Butler in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Training is CrossFit-inspired, individually coached, and built around the things that matter to you outside the gym.

What training is for
Fitness should give more back to your life.
Success is not defined by a body type, a number on a scale, or a personal record. It is defined by what your body allows you to do: keep up with your kids, walk a full round of golf without fading, take the trip you have been putting off, return to an activity you miss, or simply feel more confident moving through your day.
My role is to help you build useful strength, sound movement, and steady confidence through training that fits your life.
01
Move well
Build strong movement patterns through practical coaching, clear feedback, and progressions that meet you where you are.
02
Get stronger
Develop strength, conditioning, mobility, and resilience in a way that supports long-term progress.
03
Do more
Train for the life you want to live outside the gym, whether that means sport, family, work, travel, or simply feeling better in your body.

Meet Antoine
Coaching with a personal point of view.
I’m Antoine Butler, founder of Build Well.
My fitness journey began before dawn at Gold’s Gym, training with a friend before work. I learned quickly that I was strong, but I lacked coordination and confidence. Finding CrossFit gave me a method for building both. It pushed me, taught me how much I could learn through consistent training, and eventually led me into coaching.
I earned my CrossFit Level 1 credential, started a Kids CrossFit class at my home gym, and filled in for adult group classes when needed. Some of the kids called me “Coach Ant,” a name that still reminds me why I value coaching: people need more than a workout. They need someone who pays attention, explains the work, and helps them recognize progress they may not yet see in themselves.
Build Well is my return to that work with a clearer purpose. I am not building a large gym or chasing volume. I am building a coaching practice centered on personal attention, thoughtful training, and small groups of people who help bring out the best in one another.

The Build Well approach
CrossFit-inspired. Built for everyday life.
CrossFit helped shape how I think about fitness: train across a range of movements, build strength and conditioning together, and practice skills that make people more capable.
At Build Well, that methodology is applied with intention. The goal is not to chase every personal record, compete for attention, or fit everyone into the same workout. The goal is to help you become stronger, healthier, and more confident in ways that carry into the rest of your life.
Training is adjusted to your experience, movement history, goals, schedule, and recovery. You will work hard, but the work will have a purpose.
Coaching, not just workouts
You receive guidance, feedback, and a plan that evolves as you do.
Training that fits real life
Your program should support your life, not make the rest of it harder to manage.
Challenging, never careless
Progress comes from consistent effort, sound mechanics, and appropriate progression—not from pushing past every signal your body gives you.
Connection with intention
Small groups are built to offer energy and accountability without losing the individual attention that makes coaching valuable.
Coaching options
Find the right kind of support.
Whether you are returning to training, starting for the first time, building strength for a specific activity, or looking for more structure and accountability, there is a place to begin.

Personal Training
One-on-one coaching built around your goals.
Personal training provides focused attention, individualized programming, and a clear path forward. Sessions are shaped around your current ability, movement history, schedule, and the activities you want to do more confidently.

Intro Session
Start with a conversation.
Book a Free IntroBefore you commit to a program, we will talk through what matters to you, where you are now, what has and has not worked before, and what you want training to help you do. We will also discuss movement, goals, scheduling, and the right next step.
There is no pressure to commit. The purpose is to see whether Build Well is the right fit.
Why Build Well
A better fit for people who want more than a workout.
Build Well is for people who want to be coached as individuals. You do not need to arrive in peak condition, know the language of fitness, or be ready for an extreme program. You need a goal, a willingness to begin, and a coach who can meet you where you are.
Training here is personal by design. The work is structured, but it is not rigid. Progress matters, but it is measured by more than the weight on the bar.
- Move with more confidence.
- Build strength you can use.
- Improve energy, capacity, and resilience.
- Learn how to train with purpose.
- Stay consistent with support that fits your real life.
